What Do We Need?

As you are aware, the focus of Committee Assist is on long term sustainability.

This means the creation of sustainable systems for energy, water, sewerage, agriculture and business so that these communities can survive on their own. It includes education and other training for vocational programmes/workshops. Such programmes include sewing, cooking, carpentry, metalwork, health/nutrition and basic business.

Many of you may have access to goods (new or 2nd hand) and services that will assist with establishing and maintaining these systems and programmes – a list of which is provided below. We will be shipping 40ft containers over during 2009 from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. However, funding is often preferred to avoid shipping costs.

Goods

Tools & Building Supplies - We have collected many basic hand tools. Still need farming/gardening tools and building supplies - iron/clad roofing, steel, windows, doors and other related supplies. Just to name a few. Contract Garry through wife Mary at if you think you can help or have enquiries.
- Auction items for our next fundraisers - Upcoming fundraisers - May and June 2010 – anything from electronic goods, sporting items, art, holidays, travel, beauty products/services. professional services, entertainment – the list is endless!!!

Books, stationary, computers

Clothes, material, sewing machines

Household goods.

Medical supplies, bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows etc)

Renewable energy supplies – eg solar power systems

Sewerage, hoses, electrical, irrigation, plumbing supplies, compost loos.

Farming equipment, trade tools and supplies

40 ft containers, second-hand vehicles, minibuses - (vehicles not more than 10 yrs old)

Services

Volunteers to assist with the collection of auction items for our Fundraisers!!!

Renewable energy experts and advice – Please!!!

Simple/sustainable sewerage/recycled water experts and advice – Please!!!

Volunteers abroad – NURSE first, music teacher, management, tradesman to supervise building/vocational programmes, english teachers.

Fundraising/catering for functions – Need some “go get em” soldiers to get auction items.

Experts in either sustainable agriculture or permaculture

Technology experts for communication/computer infrastructure

Shipping, transport and travel consultants for goods and personnel

Insurance for goods shipped and volunteers working

Medical and nutritional specialists/aids

Storage facilities for containers/goods prior to shipment. Local transport for Goods pickup.
